Managing shared finances on ChitChat is about to get simpler.  We're excited to announce the upcoming release of two highly requested features: Group Wallets and Joint Accounts. They join the growing list of ways to interact on the platform. Developed to streamline how you handle money collaboratively within the platform.

What are Group Wallets?

Group Wallets provide a way to create a shared pool of funds for specific purposes. You can invite friends, family, or colleagues to contribute, making it easier to manage collective expenses like group gifts, shared bills, or trip costs without needing separate tracking or IOUs.

Each member will be able to add funds, and all will have the same visibility over the contributions and total balance, simplifying the process of tracking shared costs.

How They Work

  1. Create a Group Chat and invite participants.
  2. Appoint Admins who can initiate and approve transactions.
  3. Submit requested documentation as part of our regulatory obligation know our customers.
  4. Contribute funds to the shared wallet.
  5. Track contributions and expenses in real-time.
  6. Withdraw or distribute funds as needed.

What are Joint Wallets?

Designed for partners and close family alike, Joint Wallets are purpose-built to make it easier for users to co-manage transfers, budget effectively, and track expenses in real-time. With both parties granted full and equal control over a single, shared ChitChat account, Joint Wallets represent our most transparent and collaborative means of access the platform

How they Work

  1. Open a chat with your favourite person.
  2. Invite the other person to create a Joint Wallet.
  3. Both wallet holders have equal access and control.
  4. Manage funds, track expenses, and set financial goals together.
